Sporewood Expands!

The latest Kickstarter from Acheson Creations finished the other day, and part of the rewards were that spiffy Mushroom Forest shown above. Fourteen pieces for $50 seemed like an OK deal to me so I dived in for four!

Added to the mushrooms I already have from Acheson Creations my Sporewood should cover most of the table! :-)

I also picked up this nifty bridge for dungeon adventurers to fight their way across, or defend against unspeakable evils! IIRC the piece is 19" long.

The Inhabitants of Sporewood

Sporewood is a great mushroom forest. The name comes from the famous one located in Dagori Inkarth, or Shadows Dance, in the Rockwood Mountains of Glorantha. For my purposes, however, it can exist elsewhere as well - fungus caverns are also a popular choice.

Sporewood is the home of the Voralon, the "dark elves" of Glorantha. Mushroom men, you could call them.

Hasslefree Miniatures call them Agarix. They can be found here: A, and here: B.

Khurasan Miniatures call them Fungoids. I don't have any of the latter yet, having only just stumbled on them, but at 12-25mm height I think they will fit in well.

I think Agarix/Voralan should be quite varied in appearance, expecially given there are so many varieties of mushrooms out there!

This just in...

Andrew posted in the comments:

"You may find [Ral Partha Europe]
01046-mushroom-men
10019-fungi
of use but I am not sure if these would go [Reaper]:
03041
02679
I do like these though no idea of size! [Magnetic Displays]
RP29"

Thanks! These are great - I do think the Reaper would go as variety is important for Agarix.
